Golf Course Assistant Superintendent

We are looking for a talented and dedicated individual to join our team at the Golf Course Assistant Superintendent position. This job is perfect for an experienced assistant who wants to hone their skills and possibly find a permanent home on the mountain and a first-time assistant to gain the necessary tools to become a quality Superintendent in the near future. The Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Superintendent. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: personnel management, project management, irrigation maintenance, implementation of fertility and chemical programs, and record keeping. Applicants with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to succeed is a must.

We are currently working with Tyler Rae and Kyle Franz on a Gil Hanse renovation plan that would include but not be limited to, greens, tees, bunkers, cart paths, and drainage. It is a beautiful piece of architecture on a superior piece of property.

  • Excellent Personnel management skills.
  • Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and golf course construction, landscaped area maintenance work and building maintenance and improvement.
  • Operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
  • Knowledge of agronomy, turf grass science and the rules of golf.
  • Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers and various types of pumps and pumping systems.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
  • 2 years experience preferred

Dining Room Host

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

This position is responsible for greeting guests at the door. The host seats and presents clean menus to guests in a friendly, professional and quick manner.

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of special catch and soups.
  • Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests' expectations.
  • Takes names on a waiting list.
  • Runs the floor plan board.
  • Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.
  • Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available.
  • Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area.
  • Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
  • Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience.
  • Fills to-go orders, if applicable.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
  • Helps reset tables that are finished with dining experience.

Food and Beverage Service Staff

Base pay of 7.00 an hour plus tips. Our servers average between $17 and $20 an hour.

Dishwasher

The Lookout Mountain Club is seeking dishwashers that are motivated self-starters and reliable hard workers to round out our team.

Summary

The dishwasher position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

Essential Functions

  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
  • Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
  • Change dishwater in dish machine every hour.
  • Wash pots, pans and trays by hand.
  • Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
  • Set up or break down dishwashing area.
  • Clean and roll/unroll mats.
  • Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
  • Sweep/mop floors.
  • Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
  • Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster.
  • Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
  • Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
  • Notify manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
  • Do not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first.
  • Other duties as directed.

Summary

The Cook assists in the production and fabrication of food products for Kitchen preparation, banquet and Dining Room. Prompt, efficient and friendly service and provide an outstanding dining service experience to guests. Must possess strong customer service skills and exhibit a high degree of professionalism at all times. Ensures compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. The Cook is responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers.
  • Set-up and break down work station.
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
  • Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager;
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by management.
  • Follow department procedures to maintain supplies, back stock and coolers and to track product transfers and spoilage.

Required Education and Experience

  • Previous kitchen, culinary, restaurant, kitchen management, cooking or customer service experience.
  • Good communicator and motivator; able to work well with others and convey enthusiasm.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.
  • Prior experience in a related food service position.
